SIGNS and PEOPLE
I also have signs and people that I used with my cars. Sure, why not?
I remember getting this set of signs, but for decades, I couldn't think of the catchy name the set had. I kept thinking it was Signy Ops or something. It turns out it was called Ho Scenics - so named because they were ho scale. And yes, the "ho" in "ho scale" actually is pronounced "ho" - like one-third of Santa Claus's jolly laugh. Everyone in my day pronounced it that way. Some people today pronounce it like it's a set of initials - "H.O." - but this is wrong. I have this full set of 12 Ho's. I made blasted sure the neighbor kids never got near these. Yet somehow, prying young hands once broke the MERGING TRAFFIC sign. I remember having to paste it back together.
From L.A. to New York, from Boston to Phoenix, watch your step around my Ho Scenics!
When I got these, the People's Universe was just about done with playing with toy cars and layouts. These signs all have a uniform orange post and frame. I can't find a single thing about these online.
These people clearly came with the orange signs. I'm surprised none of them are blowing bubbles, considering the bubble gum busting craze of the 1970s and 1980s.
