LEAN MEAN MACHINES!

Things were getting lean in the 1980s! I remember getting these cars in the early 1980s just as I was outgrowing playing with toys. This batch of cars is much simpler than the rest, as these cars have no base and often no interior - usually just a body and wheels. Each body is also the same color throughout, with no racing stripes or polka dots.

TootsieToy Monza - TootsieToy had made scale model cars of this size range since at least the 1930s, and I have a couple of its Monzas. They actually go for quite a few dollars now.

TootsieToy Mercedes - This convertible is among the few in this batch that has an interior.

TootsieToy Mustang - Another Mustang, which reminds me of how in elementary school, we had to use words in sentences, and my sentences kept including something about a Mustang. I also didn't know whether the past tense of pee was spelled peed or peeed.

TootsieToy Pontiac - Yet another Firebird, as shown by the faint logo on the hood.

TootsieToy antique cars - When I started this site, I found the green car selling for $96.99 on eBay.

TootsieToy race car - I've figured out that this too is a TootsieToy, but it has no brand or name on it. Just a 5 on the front end.

Mystery truck - This looks like a TootsieToy, but it has only a few random letters on the underside, and I can't find this truck anywhere on the Internet.
